In the 3rd quarter of 2025, the project of the European Union Recovery Fund continues at the LBTU Malnava College, an agency of Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies, to promote the consolidation process with LBTU.

The accounting modules and the document management system Namejs, envisaged in the project, have been implemented to improve the quality of work and synchronize operations with LBTU, and the development of the Quality Management System continues.

IT infrastructure improvements are underway—the procurement of hybrid and computer lab equipment and necessary software continues. Smart boards installed in two classrooms (at Muižas iela 4) will make a significant contribution to the college’s short-cycle higher education programmes. Faculty training on how to use this equipment has also taken place.

To improve the quality of studies and provide students with broader opportunities to learn modern technologies, a grain quality analyser (for crop production) has been purchased, and a contract has been signed for the purchase of training stands for electric and hybrid vehicles (in the field of automotive transport) by the end of this year.

In parallel with other activities, work continues on two new study programmes at LBTU Malnava College. The short-cycle professional higher education programme Woodworking Technologies (in Latvian) has been licensed by the Academic Information Centre. The programme Smart Tourism and Entrepreneurship in Rural Areas has been submitted for licensing.

Work continues on improving Malnava College’s visual identity and website, purchasing books to expand the library’s collection, and ensuring publicity for the project’s implementation.

To date, three project reports have been approved; the fourth reporting period will conclude on September 30.

Project duration: 4 April 2024 – 31 May 2026.
