Strengthening Knowledge in Erasmus+ Mobility in Germany
From 26 January to 6 February, eight 3rd and 4th year students from the LBTU Malnava College study programme Autotransport were on a mobility at the training centre Vitalis in Germany. The students were accompanied by teachers Dace Laizāne and Marels Pozņaks.
During the mobility, the students reinforced their knowledge of the automotive mechanic profession and gained experience working with various vehicles. The students showed interest in performing their work tasks and successfully integrated into daily work processes. They had the opportunity to expand their practical knowledge and apply their theoretical knowledge in practice.
In their free time, the young people visited the Leipzig Zoo and the BMW factory, and explored Berlin’s most popular sights.
Upon returning home, the young people shared their impressions of their time abroad. What they enjoyed most was the opportunity to explore Germany, experience the surroundings of another country, learn about its culture and history, hear English and German spoken in everyday life, and see new, unfamiliar cars. The young people noted that communication was the biggest challenge, as there were relatively few people in Germany who spoke English well. They also highlighted their improved language skills as a major benefit of their time in Germany.
The tasks and activities carried out during the mobility were interesting and largely met the young people’s expectations. However, staying at the “Vitalis” training centre presented some challenges, as seven young people were housed in a single room, leading some to note a lack of privacy. On the other hand, they highlighted that the time spent there allowed them to become more independent and improve communication with their peers.
Overall, the time spent in Germany seemed very valuable and was enjoyed. They appreciated that phone charging stations were available on all public transportation and that high-quality internet was accessible. While the weather could have been more favourable to better enjoy the sights, they would gladly participate in such an exchange programme again.

The project was funded by the Erasmus+ Mobility Programme No. 2025-1-LV01-KA121-VET-000331161 Mobility of Individuals for Learning Purposes.
